Registered Staff
are on duty 24 hours a day to ensure the well being of the Residents,
provide required medications and monitor progress of each Resident.
Friendly staff are available to discuss any concerns the family may
have and offer suggestions to ensure the Residents receive the best
possible care. Nursing staff have worked with Clarion seniors for an
average of 14 years and provides exceptional, compassionate customized
care based on Residents' individual needs.
Physiotherapy is
available to Residents by an on-site Physiotherapist which can provide
comfort for those Residents experiencing chronic and painful conditions.
Activation programs
stimulate the mind and body of our residents. Activities are a very
important part of life at the Clarion. The Activity Director and staff
encourage Residents to participate in regular exercise, bingo, pub nights,
ethnic programs. Diners Club, special entertainment, crafts, community
outings and baking programs which all contribute to the social environment
enjoyed by the Residents.
Dental and Denturist
Services and Wheelchair Maintenance are all available at the Clarion
Nursing Home for the convenience of Residents.
Meal
time is a busy time and an important part of the Residents social life.
The Food Service Supervisor and dietary staff plan, prepare and serve
3 nutritious, attractive meals (with 2 entree choices) and 3 refreshment
breaks each day in the spacious dining rooms of each home area. The
Dietitian ensures that any therapeutic diet concerns are addressed.
A variety of event and holiday menus are offered throughout the year.
The Clarion offers
a restorative dining program for residents with special needs and meal
time is made pleasant with the help of volunteers who join in a family
atmosphere. Offered as well is the "Forget
Me Not" program for residents who have dementia with challenging
behaviours.
A Medical Director
is available 24 hours a day. Residents are invited to continue under
the care of their current physician if that physician is available for
house calls to the home. If that is not possible Residents are invited
to transfer care to the house physician.
Maintenance of Residents'
rights, freedoms and beliefs are supported by Clarion staff. To
ensure open communication between the home, its residents and family
members Resident Council and Family Council meetings are held on a regular
basis. Interdenominational Church Services are open to everyone on Sundays.
Roman Catholic services are also held biweekly for Residents wishing
to participate.
